Jeff Winiesdorffer - Chateau Elan Winery & Resort

Jeff

A little bit about me? Ok. I was born and raised on an Island in the middle of the Ohio River in a town known as Wheeling, West Virginia...but oh, that was so long ago! Let me fast forward ahead...I have worked in the Hospitality Industry for nearly 3 decades. I have worked with multiple Hotel companies (including various Marriott's in Atlanta and in New York City) and also worked at multiple positions from a Front Desk Agent, Pool and Recreation Supervisor, Front Office Manager, all the way to my current role as Systems Manager at Chateau Elan Winery & Resort. I have seen quite a few changes in our industry, both good and bad. I have met both wonderful and challenging people, and even some celebrities! Have dealt with pleasant and difficult situations, and worked with multiple hotel systems! I have worked with Host (and some of its sister programs) for over 20 years! Being able to attend the Host Users Group conferences has always been resourceful and enjoyable experience. My first HUG Conference was in 1994 at Sanibel Island, Florida. It was fairly small, but informative. I have been trying to attend the conferences ever since. I have missed a few along the way but I have been lucky to attend 15 past conferences. This year will make 16! I have met many new friends, coworkers, vendors, and acquaintances throughout the years which have enhanced my professional career in so many ways! But, one of my most rewarding experiences I have enjoyed in my "Hospitality Life" was becoming a HUG Board Member! What a great opportunity to see a different side to our business. Planning conferences, developing strategies, defining goals, assuming leadership roles, traveling some, creating awesome friendships, and just being a part of a great organization are just a few of the things I was able to experience by being on the Board! As this time I am the Past Chair (I was the Chair last year in Vail. Remember "Drink lots of WATER!"). My role is more of an advisor role. I get to remind people of things that need to get done, guide them through questionable issues, and I also get to see Board Members fully develop into their own leadership roles (like a proud Papa).

Think about being on the Board and maybe YOU will discover how rewarding it can be for YOU! Reach out to any current Board Member when YOU decide YOU want to be on the HUG Board and they will be able to get you the information you need to make it happen!
I can't wait to see y'all in October at my property for this year's conference! Be prepared to enjoy you some Southern Hospitality!!
